Margaret Farelli Obituary
West Haverstraw - It is with deep sadness that we inform you that Margaret "Peggy" Farelli (Donovan) of West Haverstraw passed on October 8, 2020. She was born on All Saints Day, November 1, 1938 in New York, New York to the late Jeremiah and Margaret (Delaney) Donovan.
Peggy is survived by her loving daughters Patty McInerney (James) of Lawrenceville, NJ and Carol Ann Francica (Frank) of Wyckoff, NJ, and her son Joseph Farelli (Trish) of Stewart Manor, NY, as well as her grandchildren Nicholas, Cara, Colleen, Catherine, Jerry, Joey, Chris, Alexis, and Andrew, predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Farelli and son Jerry Farelli. She is also survived by her sisters Geraldine Schmidt and Kathleen Kelly of Michigan and her brother Dennis Donovan of Yardville, NJ, with her brother Jerry Donovan of Hampton, N.H. predeceasing her, and survived by her many cousins, nieces and nephews. As a widow since 1971, Peggy devoted her life to raising her four children on her own and to serving others, especially those who were less fortunate. She was a loyal and dedicated member of the Haverstraw Ambulance Corp for forty-five years, as well as the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Unit #130. Peggy touched many lives in our Haverstraw community with her simple acts of kindness and caring. A memorial visitation for her will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 during the hours 4-8 PM at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home located at 71 N. Central Hwy, Garnerville, New York 10923. Masks and social distancing required at the funeral home; rotation in effect. A Memorial Mass with be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 11:30 AM at St. Peters Church at 115 Broadway, Haverstraw, New York 10927. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Unit 130, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, P.O. Box 462, West Haverstraw, NY 10993.
