Maria Toppi, 95 years old of Yonkers, NY died peacefully Tuesday, June 5, 2012. Mrs. Toppi was born June 9, 1916 in Bari, Italy. The daughter of the late Giovanni and Margarita Valente, Beloved wife of the late Abramo Toppi. Devoted mother to Maria, Vincent, Margaret (Salvatore) Gambino, Angela Toppi (John) Guider. Loving grandmother of Vita (Pietro), Nicole (Kevin), Salvatore, Scott, Maria, Michael, Terrance, Erica & Jennifer. Great-grandmother to Isabella & Pietro. Dear sister of Nina DiPinto and the late Angela Valente, Margarita Valente, Mauricio Valente, Peppino and Giovanni Valente. She immigrated from Italy in 1956 with her husband and four children. Mrs. Toppi was a cherished member of the community. Family and friends may call on Wednesday June 6 and Thursday June 7 from 2-4 & 7-9 at Sinatra Memorial Home, Inc. 601 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY. The funeral will be held on Friday June 8 11:00am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 70 Park Hill Ave, Yonkers, NY followed by entombment at Ferncliff Mausoleum.
