MARIE DENISE GASSANT

Marie Denise Gassant of Nyack Plaza Senior Citizen Housing, died on October 13, 2007. She was 83 years old. Marie was born in Haiti on June 23, 1924 and attended Catholic School from Kindergarten through High School at St. Ann's in Haiti. She attended Brevet at Elie Dubois and worked as a nurse at General Hospital in the Pediatric Center. Marie came to the United States in 1976 and was employed by Nyack Hospital in the Housekeeping Department. Marie is survived by her children; Marie Cantave and her husband Edvard, Harold and his wife Marie Jose Woolley Poulard, Jean Bernard and his wife Gabrielle Avril Poulard and Jean Baptiste and his wife Rose M. Dor Poulard. Her grandchildren; Judith, Benoit, Edvard, Stephan, Raymond, Steve, David, Tanya, Yamika, Tanisha, Tatiana, Mehgan, Sasha, Uriel, Emmanuel, Mardelye, Natalie, Jean Baptiste, Jr., Michael, Leocardie and Suhaid. And her great-grandchildren; Lynessa, Dalilah, Lena Marie, Natisha and Gabrielle. Visiting is scheduled for Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 9 am at St. Ann's RC Church in Nyack with Burial to follow at Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY. HANNEMANN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 88 So.
