Markham Rollins Obituary
Markham F. Rollins, Jr. of Mamaroneck, passed away on July 22, 2014 at age 80. Born on November 17, 1933 to the late Markham and Elizabeth (Richardson) Rollins. Markham proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines as Captain from 1953 - 67'. He went on to become the President of The Rollins Agency Inc., which was founded by his grandfather in 1910 in Bronxville, NY. It is now located in Rye Brook, NY and is run by his sons, Markham III and Charles.
Markham was always very active in the community serving as President of Bronxville Rotary, the Mamaroneck Lions Club and Trustee of The Mamaroneck Methodist Church. He was also very involved with The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.
Throughout his entire life, Markham was devoted to his family, community, God and country. Survived by his beloved wife Sally Ann (Johnson) Rollins, cherished children Susan Rollins Reville, Markham F. Rollins III (Jody) and Charles J. Rollins (Jeanne), adoring grandfather of 9, dear brother of Sally Meinweiser. He was predeceased by his loving brother Richardson Rollins. Interment will be private. It was with much sadness that I learned of the passing of my former platform tennis partner, dear friend and one who shared the same birthday. The camaraderie we shared will last forever. Peggy joins me in sending condolences to family.
