MARTIN BANKS Obituary

BANKS, MARTIN L. Martin L. Banks, 85, of Ossining, NY, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on August 12, 2005. Born in Tipperary, Ireland on June 20, 1920. Beloved husband of 59 years to Catherine. Devoted father to Diane Eldien, Linda Ryan, Martin and Kathleen Hatch. Much-loved fatherin-law to James Eldien, Brendan Ryan and Earl Hatch. Cherished grandfather of Lauren, Jimmy, Paul (Tanya), Andrea, Kristin (Matt), and Curran and great-grandfather of Alexa, Caden, Isabella and Katherine. He is survived by his dear sisters, Mary Murphy and Katherine Healy, his brothers, Michael and John and his sister-in-law, Veronica. He leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. He retired from the Department of the Army after a long career and from the New York National Guard (42nd Division) where he achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. His unselfish love and devotion to his family will never be replaced and will be missed by all who loved him. Visitation Sunday 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Waterbury & Kelly Funeral Home, Briarcliff Manor. Funeral Mass at St. Theresa's Church, Briarcliff Manor, NY on Tuesday 10 AM.
