MARY MURPHY Obituary

Mary Alice (Pannazzo) Murphy, a resident of Peekskill, died on September 23, 2004 at 53 years old. Born in Yonkers, NY, on January 19, 1951, she was the daughter of Donald and Alice Ruth Fox Byrne. She graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School, Yonkers, in 1968. Mrs. Murphy had been employed at the Peekskill Salvation Army as an office manager and Hudson Valley Hospital Center in the emergency room. On August 1, 1997, she married Jack Murphy. He survives. Mrs. Murphy belonged to the Paramount Center for the Arts, the Peekskill Museum, and the Peekskill St. Patrick's Day Committee. She was active in Girl Scouts as both a scout and a leader, and served as a class advisor in the Peekskill school system. Mrs. Murphy had a love of gardening, and was extremely active in her children's lives. Along with her husband Jack of the home address, Mrs. Murphy is survived by her mother, Alice Ruth Byrne of Lake Peekskill, children Deirdre Pannazzo, of Hoboken, NJ, Dominick Pannazzo of Tybee Isand, GA, Lori Borden of Creedmoor, NC, Brian Murphy of Chattanooga, TN, Sean Murphy of Vicksburg, MS, Daniel Murphy of Mobile AL, grandchildren Jacob Borden, and Rian Murphy. Five sisters, Deborah Williams of Somers, Rosemary Rohrauer, Donna Lutz, Ann Marie Denisco and Carol Lee Byrne, all of Lake Peekskill, at 10 AM on Monday, September 27, 2004 followed by interment Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, NY. Visiting at Dorsey-Carlone Funeral Home, Peekskill, on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Contributions in memory of Mary Alice to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center at Phelps Hospital, 711 North Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591 are appreciated.
