Michael Orapello Obituary
Stony Point - Michael Orapello, 85, of Stony Point, NY passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Michael was born in Manhattan, NY on December 25, 1934 to Thomas and Mary Orapello.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Janice, of 64 yrs. as well as five daughters, Michele Bolin, husband Johnny, Marie Chaban, husband Ron, Theresa Orapello, Janice Rivieccio, husband Louis, Deanna Rosado, husband Chrisand his son, Michael J. Orapello; and six grandchildren, Nicole, Deanna, Danielle, Brianna, Joey and Madeleine, and beloved family dog, Princey.
He is also survived by his sisters, Anne Fiorenza and Dolores Daubitz, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his loving parents, Thomas and Mary Orapello, and brother, Frank M. Orapello.
Michael was a member of the Teamsters-Local 456, working for Grand Union Warehouse in Mt. Kisco, NY for 25 years.
Michael was a very kind, honest and caring man to all. He loved spending time with his family, and as much time as possible in Cape May, NJ, which he considered his second home. He loved watching his favorite teams - METS, GIANTS and RANGERS.
Michael was very dedicated to the Catholic Church and his parish, Immaculate Conception. He was an Eucharistic minister for many years, a sacristan for daily 7:30 AM and weekly 5:30PM masses, a faithful server, and was very helpful to the priests.
Michael's family will receive friends and relatives at the Edward C. Finn Funeral Home, 43 East Main St., Stony Point, NY on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 7 to 9 PM, and on Friday, January 10 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A mass of Christian burial in celebration of Michael's incredible life will be held on Saturday, January 11 at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 26 John St., Stony Point, with internment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Haverstraw, NY.
