Ricardo Herena Obituary
Dr. Ricardo Herena, a White Plains resident, died July 2, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born June 9, 1932 in Lima Peru to the late Juan and Petronila Herena.
On September 12, 1960 he married his wife Nivia who survives him. He is also survived by his children; Juan, Louis, Robert , Peter and Susan Herena and Suzanne Downing. He is also survived by his siblings, Arturo Herena and Lilian Darrow and his 14 grandchildren. Ricardo is predeceased by his siblings, Luis Herena, Ana Herena and Carmen Herena.
He was a retired surgeon at St. John's Riverside Hospital and more recently worked in the Bronx for VIP Community Services.
He had a love of food, photography, politics, antique autos, soccer and world travel.
He will be remembered for the affection and love he had for his family. He was a great friend and always willing to help people in need. His calm, confident, insightful and strong demeanor will be sorely missed by everyone touched by him. For the full obituary, please visit the funeral home's website.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8pm. Mass Wednesday at 11:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with interment to follow at Kensico Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Liveonny.org
