Robert Barstow Obituary
Robert Hamilton Barstow II, a 2011 graduate of Pleasantville High School, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012. He was 20 years old and a beloved son, brother and friend. Robert was born June 18, 1992 in Tarrytown, NY to his loving parents, Robert and Kathy Barstow, who survive him, along with his devoted sister, Brittany, 25. The family resides in Sleepy Hollow within the Pocantico Hills Central School District. During his academic career, Robert maintained an honor roll status, participated in community service and received recognition for his outstanding academic achievements and exemplary behavior including The Blanche E. Long Award. Robert, a lover of philosophy and history, was a gentle, caring soul. He will be remembered by his wit and dry sense of humor, along with his loyalty to his friends and family. His interests included football, rugby, chess and working as a camp counselor at Pocantico Hills but most of all, Robert loved spending quality time with his family.
He is survived by his parents, sister and grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Dougherty, as well as 25 aunts and uncles and 28 cousins.
A funeral Mass was Thursday, Oct. 25 at 12:00 pm at Church of the Magdalene in Pocantico Hills, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the D.A.R.E. program in Pocantico Hills Central School District.

To The Barstow Family
I am so very sorry to hear about Rob's passing. I remember him fondly as he and my brother grew up together. I remember him as one of my campers and then eventually following most Pocantico kids and becoming a camp counselor. Rob was always so sweet and kind and with a smile on his face. I hope that he is at peace and that you all find comfort in the love and support Pocantico's community will provide you. Rest in Peace Rob, you are loved and missed.

What a wonderful and sweet young man he was. The Mass in his honor was so moving and beautiful it was so apparent to us that Heaven received a new Angel. God Bless you all and may you have lots of beautiful memories of him Always.
