ROBERT E. BORHO

Robert E. Borho, of Briarcliff Manor, died of cancer on December 30, 1999. He was 70. Mr. Borho was president of the Briarcliff Bus Company until his retirement in 1984. He also owned Henry's Taxi from 1948 until his death. Mr. Borho was born December 3, 1929 in Ossining to Fred M. and Gladys McGraw Borho. He was educated in Briarcliff and graduated from Briarcliff High School. On July 1, 1950, he married Elizabeth Van Wert at Holy Rosary Church in Hawthorne. Mr. Borho lived in Briarcliff all his life. He was a past member of the Briarcliff Rotary Club, a life member of the Briarcliff Fire Department and Archville Fire Department, coach of Briarcliff Little League, supporter of local charities, active in thoroughbred horse racing and owner of several race horses. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Betty; five sons, Bobby Jr., Jimmy, John, Pete and Donald; one daughter, Jane Valentine; one brother, Ray; one sister, Audree Farrington; 13 grandchildren; and friends, Joe and Ruth Weldon; Steve and Trudy Miller, John and Grace O'Hagan and families. Calling hours are Sunday, January 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Waterbury and Kelly Funeral Home, Briarcliff. The funeral is Monday 10 am at St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor.
