ROBERT M. MOONEY

Robert M. Mooney, MD, 62, a 12 year resident of Bedford Hills died Friday, January 11, 2008 at home. Dr. Mooney was born on July 25, 1945 in Mt. Vernon, NY the son of Robert and Marie Mooney, Sr. He was a physician and Ophthalmologist for Mooney & Dieck Associates located at 185 Kisco Ave, in Mt. Kisco, NY Dr. Mooney was a graduate of St. Peter and Paul Elementary School in Mt. Vernon, NY; Fordham Prep, Fordham University and received his Doctor of Medicine and Surgery degree from the University of Bologna, Italy. He was a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology; American Academy of Ophthalmology; American College of Surgeons; Westchester Medical Society; Medical Society of N.Y.S. and the N.Y.S. Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Mooney was a Member of Mensa and was listed in Who's Who in Engineering and Science; Who's Who in The East; Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care and Who's Who in Registry of Business Leaders. Dr. Mooney will be remembered for his character and honesty, his sense of humor and compassion and for touching the hearts of patients, family and friends. He is survived by his wife and best friend: Dorothy. His parents: Marie and Robert Mooney of Seaside Heights, NJ and Mahopac, NY. His sisters: Patricia Bolin and her husband, Michael of Cobham, England and their children: Colleen, Katie and Michael; and his sister Kathleen Crickmer of Englehard, NC and his nephew, Peter Core of New Canaan, CT. The family will receive friends at CLARK ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME, KATONAH, NY on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary's RC Church, Katonah, NY on Saturday at 10:00 am.
