Constantino, Romeo Anthony

Romeo Anthony Constantino, 84 of Ardsley passed away on December 12, 2014. He was born in Jersey City, NJ to Louisa and Romolo Constantino. Romeo was raised in Yonkers and attended Roosevelt High School where he was an accomplished baseball player. He also had many successful years of playing and managed the Yonkers P.A.L. Baseball Club to five consecutive years of East Coast Championships.

Romeo served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On September 14, 1957 he married Ethel Palfy. He was a loving and devoted family man. His greatest enjoyment was time he spent with his wife, his five sons and his seven grandchildren. He enjoyed many vacations in Wildwood, NJ, Cape Cod and Lancaster, PA.

Romeo enjoyed coaching his sons in the Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry Little League. He was an avid sports fan and was enthusiastic about his Yankees and Jets.

Romeo worked as a manager for the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company for 42 years. He retired in 1992 and greatly enjoyed his many years of retirement.

Romeo is survived by his beloved wife Ethel, his loving sons Roy, Gary(Andrea), Frank(Donna), Ray, Richie(Danielle), his grandchildren Nicholas, Kristina, Paul, Nolan, Kelly, Tommy and Alex, his sister Antoniette LaRiviera, his brother in law Frank Palfy(Pam) and brother in law Richard Palfy(Pat). His is predeceased by his sisters Ellie Pondstrock, Rose O'Brien, his niece Lenore Ciccone and his many devoted pets throughout the years.

Visiting Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection Tuesday 10:00am Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Ardsley.

Memorial contributions can be made to the JSW Memorial Fund in memory of Justin Wagner, 1 Seneca Dr, Mahopac, NY 10541-4139 or to the SPCA, 590 N. State Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510.
