TELLEFSEN, RONALDRonald Tellefsen, age 68, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Born in Nyack, NY, Mr. Tellefsen was a Hamilton resident since 1969. Ronald was President/CEO of Babe Ruth League, Inc. for 25 years. He had been a long-time Advisory Board Member of the Major League Baseball Rules Committee. He was a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, and the Character Counts Coalition for Youth Sports. The first award Tellefsen received, as President/CEO was the Kentucky Colonel. In 1992, he was given the Arkansas Traveler Award by then Governor Bill Clinton ( to serve as an Ambassador of good will from Arkansas to the other states and with people of nations beyond the boards of the US). In August of 2004, he was appointed as a Sagamore of the Wabash by the Honorable Joseph Kernan, Governor of Indiana, which is an elite award that honors a special group of people considered as a lesser chief or great man. Ronald served as an Executive Committee Member of the American Baseball Coaches Association and Delaware Valley Umpires Association. He was inducted into the Rockland County (New York) Sports Hall of Fame in 1994 and the A.A. Comeaux Youth Hall of Fame in 2004. Son of the late Einar and Ranvieg Johnson Tellefsen, and brother of the late Evelyn McGillicuddy, and Judith Ryan, he is survived by his wife Loretta Pelzar Tellefsen, his son and daughter-in-law Steven and Joanne Tellefsen, his daughters Debbie Small and Eileen and husband Joseph Smiegocki, all of Hamilton. His sisters Barbara Ann Prisco of Suffern, NY and Fran Tellefsen, Seven grandchildren Megan, Jaclyn and Kirsten Tellefsen, Lauren and Jennifer Small and Steven and Kevin Smiegocki, all of Hamilton. His brother-in-law and sister-in-law Otto and Susan Pelzar of Oneonta, NY, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law James L. and Eleanor Kane of Nyack, NY and brothers-in-law Alfred Ryan of New Windsor NY, and Hank McGillicuddy, and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 10 AM from the St. Raphael's R.C. Church, 3500 S. Broad St. in Hamilton. Entombment will follow in the Madonna Mausoleum in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton. Friends may call Friday from 4-9 PM and Saturday from 8:30 till departure for church, at the Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, 260 White Horse Ave., Hamilton.
