Back in the early 90's my family went to visit Mary and Roy. Roy always seemed to do things a little different then most and this story is no exception. When you fish in Wisconsin you usually use worms for bait. To the astonishment of my two boys the morning Roy was going to take them fishing, he was found at the stove boiling potatoes. The boys asked him what he was doing because they wanted to get down to the fishing hole. He told them he was getting their bait ready. Once the potatoes cooled, he added a can of corn to the potatoes. I think everyone including Mary was speechless. Roy was teasing the boys about how they didn't truly know how to fish if they never tried potatoes with corn as bait. So, off they went to one of Roy'a favorite fishing holes. At the end of the day, we didn't know if they caught any fish or not. All three claimed they did but threw them back in. Of course, like all guys, they caught the biggest fish in the pond. Roy gave my boys a memory they will never forget. For that Roy, I thank you. We will truly miss you.
