RUTH EMMELUTH Obituary

Ruth E. Emmeluth, 94, a 33-year resident of Dover Plains, NY and formerly of Pawling, NY, died Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Sharon Health Care Center in Sharon, CT. Mrs. Emmeluth was a nurse for Dr. Milnor Morrison in Pawling, NY for several years. She was born April 19, 1914 in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of the late Leonard and Laura Ingham Fanelli. On October 15, 1939 in New Rochelle, NY, she married her soul mate, Charles P. Emmeluth who died September 23, 2007. Mrs. Emmeluth was a Red Cross volunteer at New Milford Hospital in New Milford, CT and a longtime member of the Amenia-Wassaic Senior Citizens and the Tally Ho Association. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains, NY. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Brooks and her husband, Norman, of Sun Lakes, AZ and Patricia Soukup and her husband, Brud, of Dover Plains, NY; a grandson and the light of her life, Mark Soukup of Dover Plains, NY; a sister, Laura Arena of New Rochelle, NY and five nephews and a niece. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Leonard and Henry Fanelli and two sisters, Florence Martinetti and Marie DeVico. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 2, 2009 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Mill St., Dover Plains, NY with Fr. John Backes officiating. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Dover Plains, NY.
