Ryder Gordon Brown

December 4, 2011 - January 18, 2015

Surrounded by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, Ryder Gordon Brown passed away on Sunday, January 18th at Boston Children's Hospital after a brief illness. Ryder was the beloved son of Jason and Alison (Blair) Brown of New Rochelle, and loving big brother to Griffin James Brown. Grandson of Robert and Janet Blair (New Rochelle), James Brown and Ea Jensen (New Rochelle), and Judith Gordon (Pleasantville). Nephew of Robert Blair (New Rochelle), Evan and Adrienne Brown (Sparks, NV), godparents Stephen and Ryan Flaim (Duxbury, MA), Mwaniki and Sarah Mwangi (New Rochelle), and Charles Rubin (Brooklyn, NY). Cousin to Amelia Brown, Brandon, Trevor, Nicholas and Cameron Flaim, and Hudson Mwangi. Great Grandson of Jane Blair (Newington, CT). Ryder was also loved and cared for by his babysitter Siobhan White (West Harrison, NY). Ryder loved his school, Ethical Culture Nursery School of Westchester, and learning to swim at AquaTots. A resident of Larchmont Woods, Ryder spent several memorable summers at the Larchmont Shore Club, the lake house in Mahopac, NY, and at the beach house in North Falmouth, Cape Cod. He loved to read books, play with dinosaurs, puzzles, trucks and trains. Most of all, he loved people, and at the tender age of 3, Ryder could command a room with his infectious laugh and engaging personality. He will be greatly missed by all that he touched in his short life. Calling hours will be on Friday, January 23rd, 3-8pm at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, 767 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY 10543. A funeral mass will be said on Saturday, January 24th at 10am on the campus of the College of New Rochelle at the Holy Family Chapel, 29 Castle Place, New Rochelle, NY 10805. The family will be sitting shiva on Sunday, January 25th from 1-6pm at the home of James Brown and Ea Jensen, 240 Fifth Avenue, New Rochelle, NY 10801. To honor the life of Ryder, the family has requested donations be made to two organizations that were a big part of his life:

Ethical Culture Society Nursery School of Westchester

Attn: Ryder Gordon Brown Scholarship Fund, 7 Saxon Wood Rd, White Plains, NY 10605. Donations should be made out to Ethical Culture Society Nursery School of Westchester, The Larchmont Public Library, 121 Larchmont Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538.
