SAMUEL MOHR Obituary

Samuel A. Mohr, 51, Bronxville, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 11, 2010. Sam was born in Defiance, Ohio, on October 10, 1958, to John J. and Joyce (Marckel) Mohr, who survive. Sam also leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa, and his beloved children, Anna, 20, and Mary, 19, both of Cleveland, Ohio, and Katherine, 13, and Samuel, 12, both at home in Bronxville. Sam will also be deeply grieved by his sisters, Michelle (Rick) DeWine, Warwick, RI, and Peggy (David) Christiansen, Fernandina Beach, FL, and his brother James J. Mohr, MD, Delaware, OH, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Sam spent his childhood in Defiance, graduating from Defiance High School in 1977. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1981, received his law degree from William and Mary School of Law, Williamsburg, VA, in 1984 and his Masters of Law (LLM) in taxation, also from William and Mary, in 1985. Sam's distinguished career included the law firms of Hunton & William, in Richmond, VA, Jones, Day, in Cleveland, OH, and for the past 19 years at Ernst & Young. He was promoted to Partner at Ernst & Young in 1994, and had worked at their offices in Cleveland, Atlanta and most recently in New York City. Memorial visitation at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, 20 Cedar St., Bronxville, NY, from 3-7 pm Friday, January 15th,. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's church. Bronxville on Saturday, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions to The Community Fund of Bronxville- EastchesterTuckahoe, 15 Park Place, Bronxville, NY 10708; the Bronxville School Foundation, 177 Pondfield Road, Bronxville, NY 10708; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
