Sue's involvement in her community was extensive.

In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and County Legislator, Sue also supported her husband's P&H business for 30+ years as Vice President.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Mary. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Donald, her son Devin (Sarah) Swanson and daughter Donna-Sue (Victor) Soto and her three grandsons, Jake & Luke Swanson and Luke Soto, along with her sister Judie (Roger) McCandless and nephew Scott. my wife and I were just getting to know Donald and Susan as a couple. their life's stories were similar to ours. I served on our community board here in Florida with sue for almost five years. We were shock and sadden by this unexpected news. my wife and I would like to extend our condolences to the Swanson family and offer Donald any support we can provide during these trying times

Spent wonderful times with cousin Sue growing up during the '40s and '50s in Mt. Kisco NY. The two families were very close. Sue was a tremendously practical, down to earth, good-natured person who was all heart. She'll be very much missed.

I was sorry to read this obituary. I spent many a Saturday afternoon with Sue watching the Westlake football games. I'll always remember her favorite line: "It was a gift, Westlake." She was a gift. She will be missed. Toni Ford

It was my pleasure to have known and worked with Sue on projects in the Town of Mt Pleasant.
Those that took her for granted in the political world soon learned that she was relentless in getting things done the right and ethical way.
To Don and the Children I say thank you for sharing her with us I know it took a lot of her time away from you.
She was my good friend and I will never forget her honesty and kindness to all she represented.

Saddened to learn of the passing earlier today of former County Legislator Sue Swanson. Sue and I were polar opposites politically but we were friends, colleagues and worked together for the betterment of our constituents and Westchester county. Sue was a major player in helping to draft the legislation to establish the Westchester Medical Center as a public authority, freeing the institution to grow and thrive to the success it is today. She kept her watchful eye on the county budget each year and spent days and weeks examining it line by line to weed out waste and duplication. She could be tough on the issues but she used her humor to keep it friendly. Each year on Halloween she would come to the board meetings dressed as a witch including the broom and have us all in stitches. Yes, Sue was a unique personality but a dedicated public servant throughout her tenure. Rest In Peace Sue, you will not be forgotten. ❤
