THOMAS CAPALBO Obituary

Thomas J. Capalbo of Poughkeepsie, NY, a former Patterson resident died Friday, October 20, 2006 at Putnam Hospital Center at the age of 78. He was born May 4, 1928 in Bronx, NY son of the late Joseph and Lucille (Zacarro) Capalbo. On October 14, 1950 he married Norma Casanova in the Bronx. He served with the Army during the Korean War as a drill Sergeant at West Point. He had lived in Patterson for many years before moving to Hilton Head, SC where he lived for seven years before moving to Poughkeepsie four years ago. Mr. Capalbo was a Steam Fitter for 22 years with the local 543 which is now local 21 in Peekskill. He was also a mechanic from the age of 16 until he joined the steam fitters at the age of 40. Besides his wife Norma he is survived by four children, Thomas of Patterson, NY, Joseph of Brewster, NY, Larry of Somers, NY, Amy Carlucci of Poughquag, NY and six grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 24 at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Brewster. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery. Calling hours will be today Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Beecher Funeral Home. Contributions in his memory may be made to Rosary Hill Home, 6oo Linda Ave., Hawthorne, NY 10532.
