THOMAS COPLE Obituary

Thomas J. Cople, Sr., a White Plains resident, died Friday, January 27, 2006. He was 77. He was born July 24, 1928 in Brooklyn to the late William and Mary Elizabeth Cople. Thomas was a graduate of St. Agatha H.S. in Brooklyn. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947. Mr. Cople was the owner of the JRT Livery Service in Manhattan. He retired in 1993. He was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Valhalla and a member of the Port Chester American Legion. On April 26, 1992, he married Sara Martello at St. Anthony's Church in W. Harrison. He is survived by his children, Thomas J. Cople, Jr. of Shrub Oak, NY, Kenneth Cople of New Fairfield, CT, Karen Mitchell of Torrington, CT, and Mary Beth Cople of Riverdale, NY. Also surviving are his siblings, Elaine Kwederis of Oakland, NJ, William Cople of Hauppaugue, NY, Joan Doyle of Sucusana, NJ, Vaughan Clifford of Shirley, NY and Maureen McHugh of Oceanside, NY. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Mr. Cople is predeceased by his first wife, Ruby Smedberg Cople, his son Richard Cople, a brother Robert and a sister Patricia. Visiting hours will be Tuesday and Wednesday 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, 11 am, Holy Name of Jesus Church. Interment, Long Island National Cemetery.
