THOMAS SASSONE Obituary

Thomas M. Sassone of Hartsdale, formerly of Yonkers, died on March 11, 2010. He was born on December 9, 1924, to Enrico and Teresa (Iennaco) Sassone. Thomas grew up in Yonkers, and joined the ARMY, during WWII. He served in the ARMY Air Corps; where he constructed air fields and runways in places like Saipan and Okinawa. Upon returning from war, he joined his brothers in the automotive business. Throughout the years, he and his family had multiple ventures, including Sassone Brothers Auto Body, he retired in 1986. Thomas was married to Margaret Rasulo, who predeceased him in 1983. He is survived by his children Sharon Gutierrez and Thomas V. Sassone. He is also survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou King of Hartsdale, and her children, Cynthia Friedbauer, Christine King-Caleo, and Sharon Delbene-Giattino. Thomas is the beloved grandfather of 10; and the great grandfather of 1. He is also survived by his brothers; Alphonse and Vincent Sassone; sisters' Michelina Maddalo; Doris Fanelli; and sister in law, Libby Grasso. Visiting will be today 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Edwards-Dowdle FH. There will be a Mass of the Resurrection, 10am Sat. at Church of the Sacred Heart, Hartsdale, NY.
