AGE: 90 • Buchanan
William Neil Blenkinsopp of Buchanan, NY passed away on October 3, 2017. He was 90 years old. Prior to retiring, he was a Customer Engineer for IBM in Armonk and also taught Continuing Education classes at BOCES. He was born in Liverpool, England on December 10, 1926. William served in the British Royal Navy and Merchant Marines. While a Merchant Marine he met his future wife, Marilyn Yarwood in New York City; they were married in Brooklyn on October 14, 1956. She predeceased him in 2014. William is survived by two daughters, Heather Blenkinsopp of Ossining and Hazel (Jose Pena) Blenkinsopp of Tarrytown and a granddaughter, Jasmine Pena.
Visitation will be on Saturday, from 9am to 10am. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home, 10am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Trinity Boscobel United Methodist Church, 275 Church St. Buchanan, NY 10511.
His family would like to thank the Bethel Nursing Home staff and residents for their care, support and friendship for the past several years.

Dear Heather and Hazel,
Bill and I were good friends at IBM and after IBM. I will always have fond memories of Bill and our adventures together. We have celebrated Guy Faulkes Day every November 5th and his 90th Birthday.

Dear Heather and Hazel, I am sorry for your loss. It comes to all of us, but there is something about losing your parents that changes a part of your identity. Bill was a neighbor and friend. He would often stop over to chat when I got home from work. Sometimes before I was even out of the car. He loved to discuss what was happening in the school district or in the Village and get my point of view. When I went through the death of Mother in 2000 and my first husband, Bob, in 2006 he was always there with an offer of support or anything I needed.
