WILLIAM SHANLEY Obituary

William F. Shanley, a former Yonkers resident, died on Friday, May 28, 1999 at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ at age 67. Born on November 20, 1931 to Dr. William and Rose (Fresinger) Shanley in Yonkers where he was raised and received his education from both Fordham Prep and Fordham University. He was also a graduate of Fordham Law School. He was a lifetime Yonkers resident and recently moved to Lakewood, NJ. Mr. Shanley was an attorney for the Seaborad Surety Corp. of New Jersey and his private practice in Yonkers. He also served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army being honorably discharged as a corproal. He was also a parishioner of Christ the King Church. While living in Yonkers, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club and had membership in both the Westchester and New York City Bar Association. On January 8, 1955, he married Nancy Wolfe in Sacred Heart Church in Yonkers. She survives living in Lakewood, New Jersey. He is also survived by his two daughters, Rosemarie Frugoni of Woodbridge, NJ and Gloria J. Hanlon of Boston, MA; and his three granddaughters, Shanley Marie, Sydney Jean and Sawyer Grace; and his two sisters, Gloria Duncan and Betty Baker of Toms River, NJ. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 31 in Christ the King Church at 11 am. Interment to follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Warwick, NY. Donations may be made to Deborah Heart and Lung Center, 200 Trenton Road, Browns Mills, NJ, 08701.
