I didn’t know Carol, but I wish I had. I too am so impressed with her life of accomplishment and service. She sounds like she was an amazing person. My condolences to her family and friends.

Carol was a guiding light during my tenure in the beginnings of the Lompoc Theatre Project. she was articulate, well informed, assertive but not overbearing, and even had a wry sense of humor, which I loved about her. I cared for her very much, and she cared equally for the non-profit I helped to start with Legal Zoom, many meetings, me offering to be President of the non-profit for a time, and even my wife Donelle lovingly supporting. RIP my dear. We helped to plant some good seeds in Lompoc. May they continue to fruit from our early efforts.

From her personal experiences working and writing for state politicians in Sacramento to her dedication to local issues in Lompoc, she was a great communicator. Articulate and incredibly bright. I loved hanging out with her. I moved away some twenty years ago and lost touch. The world is diminished by her absence.

I worked with Carol when I was a freelancer for the Lompoc Record in the early 2000s. She was a lovely person, and a passionate and eloquent communicator. May her memory be a comfort, a blessing, and an inspiration to those who knew her.

I was able to really get to know Carol via Facebook
What a talented, loving person. I will miss her comments and postings. As the pope said dogs go to Heaven. I am sure her devoted dog welcomed her with open paws. Sorry for your loss, once again, Terri, David and Wayne. From cousin Cecilia Hemme in Phoenix

My condolences to Ms. Benham’s family and friends. I had the privilege of meeting her during her time as a Human Service Commissioner with the City of Lompoc. Her dedication to uplifting our community was evident in every recommendation she made—ensuring that low-income households had access to shelter, food, safety, and medical assistance.
Ms. Benham’s compassion and commitment to helping others left an impact on our city. She will be missed.
