Gloria Terrones Obituary

Gloria Gaitan Terrones

1950 - 2023

Gloria Gaitan Terrones passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in Lompoc, California on April 26, 2023, at the age of 73. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who valued her family above all.

Gloria was born March 26, 1950, in Lompoc, California to Paul and Lupe Gaitan.

Gloria is survived by her daughters Carmen Lazos, Dolores Escarzega (Rudy), Paulette Prendez (Jerry), brothers Larry (Barbara) and Danny (Judy) Gaitan, grandchildren Bobby Vega, Albert Razo, Valen Vega, Eddie Vega, Glorianna Thomas, John Daniloff, R.J. Grice, Victoria Grice, and Oscar, Isaiah, and Alyssa Lazos all of Lompoc. Eight great-grandchildren that she loved dearly. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Lupe Gaitan. Her brothers Paul, David, Raul, Robert, Eddie, and Johnny Gaitan. Her sisters Dolores Hernandez and Helen Gaitan.

Upon graduation from Lompoc High School in 1968, Gloria continued her education at Allan Hancock College. Gloria started her family in 1969 having three daughters who loved and adored her. After taking time to be a homemaker, she then started her career at Vandenberg Air Force Base, drove for City of Lompoc Transit, the Dick Dewees Center and worked at the famous Whistle Stop in Lompoc. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, dancing, and cooking for her family. But most of all she enjoyed quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Anyone who knew Gloria knew her for her outgoing personality, her great laugh, and her delicious food. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, wisdom, patience, and generosity will live in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at 2 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc, followed by a graveside service at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Gaitan Terrones family. Gloria and my mom, Christine were old high school buddies, which led the lifelong friendship to their daughters, me & Carmen, Delores, and Paulette. Our moms are in heaven probably catching up.
