Kim Albright Obituary

Kim Albright

November 14, 1949 - August 31, 2024

Kim Annette Albright, 74, passed away peacefully in Sparks, Nevada surrounded by family at her bedside August 31, 2024, from advanced stage Parkinson 's Dementia. Left to carry on her traditions are her husband of 53 years, Edward Albright, children, Brent Albright and Kelly Albright. Her legacy will continue with her five grandchildren.

Kim was born in Palo Alto, California on November 14, 1949, while her father and mother were finishing their degrees at Stanford University. She grew up in California, Oklahoma and Texas. Kim was the oldest of three sisters, Caryn and Cindy. Following High School Kim attended the University of Wisconsin on a full scholarship as a mathematics major. While attending the University of Wisconsin she met the love of her life Edward Albright. It was, "love at first sight." They married on July 31, 1971, had two children, Brent and Kelly and moved to California after Edward earned three graduate degrees from Indiana University.

The family settled in Lompoc, California as Kim wanted to get back to the coast and closer to her parents. Kim led a very happy active life filled with family, friends, and many activities such as: playing tennis, gardening, cheering on her grandchildren at sporting events, reading, dog obedience trainer, and excursions in their fifth wheel. Kim volunteered with the children's schools, heart association, homeowner's association, secretary/treasurer for the American Dream Foundation, involved with the church youth group as well as singing in the church choir. Kim's heart and soul were devoted to being a wife, mother and grandmother. Always making everyone feel welcome, loved, supported and never judged. Kim graciously placed family first and service above self her entire life.

When Kim's children left home and enrolled in college, she became a principal's secretary within the Lompoc School District. Kim loved the faculty, families, and children she worked with. Kim and Edward retired to Sparks, Nevada in 2013 to be close to Kelly and family. Kim loved camping at Lake Tahoe and surrounding areas, bike rides, walks, any activity outside where she could feel the wind and sun on her face. Kim enjoyed the beautiful mountain range view from their backyard in Sparks where they were blessed to renew their wedding vows last July celebrating 52 years of marriage surrounded by family and friends.

God was waiting with open arms to greet one of his Angels.

At Kim's request there will be no services.

My heartfelt sympathy to Ed and family. Bonnie and I remember meeting Kim several times, in Elkhart IN, while on leave from the Marine Corps. It was always a very enjoyable experience, socializing with Kim.

May the Great Architect of our universe, keep the Albright family in the palm of his hands, providing strength and comfort, and may great memories offer solace. Prayer has been offered. God Bless.

I worked with Kim at La Canada and she was fabulous at her job. Very thoughtful and full of joy all the time, no matter what. Our daughters went to a summer mission that Kim was a sponsor at. Knowing Kim would be a Momma to my girl while they were ministering to an Indian reservation. I will keep many great memories of sweet Kim close in my heart and mind. God Bless you all.

It was always wonderful to come into the office at La Canada to find beautiful Kim, usually with that lovely smile, being our peace to help us through our storm. What a pleasure it was to work with her. All is calm all is well, thank you to her family who she was so proud of for sharing your mom with us!
