Barbara Cooper Obituary

Barbara June Cooper Stowers was born on June 14, 1935, to Terry and Thelma Stowers. She passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 90.

Barbara June was a lifetime resident of Arcola Virginia. She graduated from Aldie High school in 1953. She went on to marry Calton Edison Cooper a seal man in the United States Navy. Throughout the years Barbara June worked at the Loudoun County Clerk's office and drove a school bus for Loudoun County Public Schools. In her later years she was the switch board operator for Wiliam A. Hazel. She enjoyed all her jobs being a loyal and dedicated employee, which was one of her many prides.

Barbara June was known for her deep love for family, her warm heart and her devotion to her home and the friendships she built throughout her life. She lived a life rooted in kindness, strength and quiet grace touching the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carlton Edison Cooper; mother Thelma Rose Hall Stowers; and her father Terry Franklin Stowers.

Barbara is survived by her loving children; Kaylee Cooper Long, Karla Cooper Garrett (Don Garrett), Karlton Cooper (Monica Cooper) and Katrina Cooper Miller (Ken Miller). She was a proud grandmother to Christopher Long (Holly Baxter), Denise Foreman (Sharir Foreman), Scott Long (Allison Mcall), Kory Cooper (Kristy Cooper), Katie Long, Cody Long, Samuel Garrett, and Ben Garrett. Her legacy also lives on through her great grandchildren; Jayden Baxter, Madison Harlow, Kassidy Cooper and Kolden Cooper.

A Funeral service will be held on August 2, 2025, at Hall's Funeral Home in Purcellville Virginia. The visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 P.M. Burial will take place immediately after followed by a celebration of life at the home of her daughter.

In Lieu of flowers the family kindly request that donations be made in Barbara June's memory to the Down Syndrome Association of Southern Maryland. Barbara June Stowers Cooper
