Mary Butler Obituary
Mrs. Butler was born on December 30, 1928, in Lincoln, Virginia, the daughter of the late Henry Titus and Carrie Virginia Hough Titus.
She was a cafeteria worker for Loudoun County and Clarke County Public School Systems.
She was a member of Greenwood United Methodist Church, Winchester.
She married Rudolph James Butler in 1966. Mr. Butler preceded her in death November 24, 2009.
She is survived by one daughter, Gretchen VanSickler Overstreet (Jim) of Charlottesville, VA; and two sons, Christopher Vansickler (Barbara) and James "Mike" Butler (Lisa), all of Winchester, VA. She is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family received friends 11:00 A.M. -12:00 P.M. and a funeral service was held 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home Chapel, Berryville, VA. with Mr. Ed Lambert officiating. Burial followed in the Hillsboro Cemetery, in Hillsboro, Virginia.
Pallbearers were Scott Overstreet, Jason Overstreet, Josh Hayes and Adam Titus. Honorary pallbearers were Samuel Rhodes and Jim Hodges.
The family wishes to thank Ruth Robinson (caregiver), Kay Ostrander (beautician and friend), and Kellie Price, RN.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary A. Butler to the Winchester Area SPCA, 111 Featherbed Lane, Winchester, VA 22601.
