To the Ciliberti family from Pat (Jake's wife)
I was feeling restless yesterday and just cranky, and as I often do when I feel that way, I checked the calendar and sure enough, It was the anniversary of Ange's sudden death. I miss that guy so much and not just on anniversaries. He was such a good friend to my family (our girls loved him), and I miss meeting him for lunch to talk about Jake and old times.
His loss is profound to me.
My best to all of you.

It was one year ago today when you passed away unexpectedly, Dad.
You are not forgotten and never will be.
A few months before you passed, you wrote a few thoughts to your eleven siblings and the part that has impacted me the most was where you wrote " My life has been good despite many mistakes and I ended up with considerably more than I started with and if you measure success in life by that which you leave behind as I do, then I have been very successful when you look at my children rather than the individual acts of my life.
Love you one and all...Dad."
And we love you and miss you Dad!

Hello Dad
Today is January 7, 2009, your 80th birthday.
My heart still aches in sadness and secret tears still flow. What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know.
If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane, I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye. You were gone before I knew it and only God knows why. Since you'll never be forgotten, I pledge to you today. A hallowed place within my heart is where you'll always stay.
I love you Dad!
Happy Birthday
Your son in California

Dear Ciliberti Family,
We just learned on Sunday that your Dad had passed on. He was our physician for many years and truly cared for his patients. He was definitely from the old school of medicine as was my own father. He had a sense of what his patients needed and never made you feel like you were holding him up from other appointments. I know the sense of loss when losing someone loved by so many. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you all.

Dear Ed and Ciliberti Family,
I've known of Dr. Angelo through Ed. It's an amazing and wonderful thing to be a healer and to touch and improve the lives of so many. Dr. Angelo was a paragon for the practice of medicine. His knowledge and expertise must genuinely be considered legendary, yet he tempered this with unparalleled kindness, approachability, and focus on the human dignity of his patients. Few of us are ever so richly blessed in life as Dr. Angelo. And he is a blessing to those who knew him, even if only peripherally as I did.

To the Family of Dr. Angelo Ciliberti: I only learned yesterday that Dr. Ciliberti had passed. He was my doctor for over 10 years and he was a great doctor. I feel he truly saved my life by finding out what was wrong with me when others could not. When I was in the hospital, I also had visits from his sons and I must say, his sons are truly gifted doctors as well. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

To Ed and the Ciliberti family,
I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Angelo Ciliberti back in 2003 during a visit to Kentucky. It was obvious from our brief meeting that he had a love of life and was very proud of his family. He was a well-respected physician, teacher, mentor and will continue to be loved by many. I was shocked to overhear a local physician mention Dr. Ciliberti’s name at our local community hospital here in California. It only goes to show that his legacy will live on through his teachings and wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

What a dear, dear man! Dr. Angelo, was friend and Dr. to my dear friend Silvia Franzoni, I met him when he was taking such excellent care of her about 7 yrs ago when she began having problems with CHF. He actually saved her life right in his office one day! She always spoke so highly of Dr. Angelo, both being from NY and Italians, they had been friends for decades...it was always fun being around them...I never minded having to go with Silvia when she had her appointments. My husband Bill also became Dr. Angelo's patient just before he retired. I was so sad to hear the news of his passing he will definetly be missed, he surely left a good mark and created some very good karma in this lifetime. Sincerely, Kathy Tribble

We will always remember Dr. Ciliberti as an excellent doctor with great compassion for everyone. He was always cheerful and positive about life. He had a great sense of humor-once telling me that in his last year of medical school, the professor told the students, "Remember, hurry up and treat the patients before they get better on their own."
He had great beside manners, and he took the time to listen. He was concerned about your health and well being, and he was going to do everything possible to help you.
If he referred you to a specialist, it was always someone he held in high esteem.
What a friend! Our deepest sympathy to his family.

Dr. Ciliberti was my dad's best friend. I am the youngest of Jake's 5 children. He was a deep comfort to my mom in the past few years.
If there is anything like a heaven, Jake and Ange are both there having a card game and an "animated discussion" about the state of politics and UofL sports.
Dr. Ciliberti was an incredible comfort to our entire family as long as I can remember. When I was about 6 years old he was at the house for the weekly poker game and I wasn't feeling well. He took my temperature by placing a spoon in my mouth and then feeling how hot it was. That was 35 years ago and I never forgot it because I thought he was a magician!
Now that I'm an adult, I know that his real magic was in his profound healing abilities, his reverberating laugh, his bottomless heart, his steadfast friendship and his loyalty to my Dad and Mom.

I would like to express my sorrow to the family of Dr. Ciliberti. He was my Dr. from about 1986 until he retired. He provided excellent medical care for me, was interested in my family & was also willing to offer advice regarding any problem I was having in my journey through life. When I was raising a teenage son & having problems with him - he told me numerous times "keep him alive until he is 25 & he will be OK" - he was right. When I called because of situations with my health - he always promptly returned by call & offered comfort & assurance that everything would be OK. I have missed him so much since his retirement & will continue to miss him. He was more than a Dr., he was my friend. I am so sorry for your loss.

To Ed, and the entire Ciliberti family,
I am proud to say I got to know the family through Ed, many years ago. It was then that I learned what a wonderful and unique family I came to know. Dr. Ciliberti is still, and was a well-respected Physician here in Louisville and elsewhere. God Bless the Ciliberti family. I will keep all of you in my prayers, and will never forget the times I spent in your home with Ed, and all of you. All of you can be very proud to have the Ciliberti name. Your father was one of the best in his field.
Always in my prayers,

I was extremely sad to hear of Ange's passing. He was one of the"Hollow Creek Gang" that all raised our families and had such a great time together. I was very happy to have had lunch with Ange last April '07 while in Louisville, we had a great time renewing some of the adventures we all had in raising our families.
Ange was not only a special doctor to the medical profession, but an outstanding neighbor and friend as well. His friends and neighbors will surely miss this dedicated man.
I feel privileged to have known Ange over the years and hope that he rests in peace in God's presence. God bless you Ange.
My condolences go out to the family for their great loss.
