Ann Eckart Obituary

EDWARDSVILLE ECKART, ANN ELIZABETH ELBERT, 90, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, November 2, 2007. She was born in Dogwood, IN August 23, 1917. She was a 60+ year member of Edwardsville United Methodist Church, a member of the Nellie Sharp Sunday School Class, and a member of the Willing Workers of the Edwardsville United Methodist Church. She also belonged to the Edwardettes Homemakers Club, the Skyline Homemakers Club and the 55+ Club at Tunnel Hill Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Curtie Albert Crecelius Elbert; her father, Sidney Matthew Elbert; her husband of 57 years, Lester Frank Eckart; and a brother Sidney Matthew Elbert Jr. Ann is survived by her children, Roger (Sharon) and Veneda Keithley (Lenne), of New Albany, IN; her brother, Lambert Elbert (Jean), of Corydon, IN; her sister, Laura Elbert Smith, of Frenchtown, IN; many nieces and nephews; and Lois Bottom and Debbie Carpenter, who cared for her. Funeral services will be held at the Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, 7420 State Road 64, Georgetown, IN Tuesday at 10 a.m., with interment at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany beside her beloved Lester. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 2-8 p.m. and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. The family asks that donations in her name be made to Edwardsville United Methodist Church or to Hospice of Southern Indiana. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
