Anthony Dearing Obituary

DEARING, ANTHONY J., 69, died in Indianapolis, IN on Monday, October 16, 2006. Tony, as he is best known, grew up in Louisville, and attended Flaget High School and Bellarmine College. He was a rabid Flaget Brave and lettered in football under the famous Paulie Miller. Tony was in the Casualty insurance business and practiced in Owensboro, Cincinnati and Indianapolis. He started with Maryland Casualty and ended with Safeco as vice-president of reinsurance. He retired after 40 years in 2001. Tony was preceded in death by brothers, William G.; father Arnold, O.F.M. Conv., and Richard E. Dearing. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose (Hackley) Dearing ; daughter, Christine Kroner (Ray); sons, Charles, Michael and Patrick Dearing (Maria); step-children, Bryan Stillwell (Gina) and Angela Blanco (Jorge); brother, Charles F. Dearing (Charlotte); sisters, Theresa M. Lawson and Mary Ann Dearing; a long-time friend, Vonda Norris; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Funeral arrangements were handled by Wilson-St. Pierre Funeral Home in Greenwood, IN. Cremation was chosen by the family. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Friday, October 20th, at Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church in Greenwood, IN. Family gathering, and general public, 10 a.m.- noon. Mass of Christian burial will follow at noon. A luncheon will follow the Mass. Memorial gifts may be made to Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church or to Flaget Alumni Association.

tony was my cousin and I enjoyed being with him on family occasions.I have a lot of great memories of tony and I want to express my condolences to his family.
