Bobby Smoot Obituary
He was a retired welder for the old American Air Filter, a Navy veteran, member of the American Legion Iroquois Post 229 and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Millie Booth Smoot; father and step-mother, Orris K. and Decima Smoot; and sister, Betty Lee.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nell C. Smoot; sons, Billy Smoot (Terri) and Tony Brake (Nadine); daughter, Becky Blacketer (Jerry); five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and sister, Linda Doyle (James).
His funeral service will be 10 a.m. on Friday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Ratterman's.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Terry Hadley and his staff of Angels at Norton Cancer Institute.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Legion Iroquois Post 229 or the Disabled American Veterans.

Becky, Tony, Billy and Family, I am so sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. I am sorry that I will not be able to be there with you in this difficult time but know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Please give you mom a hug and kiss from me. Glad I got to visit with them in the Spring. Love you all.
