Hollis, Brenda Marie, DVM,

Brenda Marie Hollis, DVM, 50 years of age died Tuesday June 27, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brenda was born October 13, 1966 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Harvey Glenn Hollis DVM and Frances Elizabeth (White) Hollis. Brenda was a 1995 graduate of Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and had been practicing for some 22 years. She most recently practiced at the Hollis Animal Clinic which her father Harvey G. Hollis DVM, founded in 1959. Brenda was a caring, patient and kind doctor who always had time for the animals as well as the owners. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all her many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sibling; Kristina Hollis-Walters

Survivors include: Husband Jim Harper, three children Payton, Colette, and Geneva. Siblings; Barbara Hollis, Kevin Hollis MD (Susan), and James Hollis DVM, (Sue) and several nieces and nephews.

Reception of family and friends will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday July 2nd, and from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday July 3rd, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana. Her Remembrance Service will be held 4:00 pm Monday at the Kraft Charlestown Rd. Chapel.

Just did an internet search to check the hours for the clinic and found this. She made the world a better place not only for animals but for every person she met. There was this aura of goodness around her that made everyone who met her feel like everything was going to be okay. The pain will never be completely gone and with Christmas here it's even worse, but the joy she brought to everyone can live on as we think of the laughter and the smiles she created; the tiny seed of hope and goodness she planted in our hearts every time we were with her.

I just learned of Dr. Hollis' passing today. Words cannot express how deeply saddened I am to learn of this. Dr. Hollis was an awesome doctor and person. I just learned of her passing and am deeply saddened by this news. We didn't know her well, but she was the kindest veterinarian we had ever had. She took great care of our doggies. Dr. Brenda Hollis was such a beautiful person. Her kind heart and brilliant mind brought such peace to my family on so many occasions for 13 years. She treated a little hamster with the same gentleness and care that she did a 100+ pound dog. I will always, always remember how lovingly she helped us through the passing of our sweet companions. She was a blessing to all the little creatures that walk this Earth and to all of us that love them. I feel such shock and grief over her passing and the vast space that is left in her absence. I only hope that her children, husband, and family can read these words left by so many of us and feel a moment of comfort in what is surely such a difficult time. Dr Hollis,and each and everyone of her staff members, have been my support group for my many babies for so many years, I just can not picture us anywhere else. Dr Hollis knew just how to handle each animal,from my most wacky cat, to my precious hi strung little yapper.!! Our hearts are heavy when realize we will never see her again..
Dr Hollis will cross RAINBOW BRIDGE, to find so many loving beautiful animals, who will be so happy to see her. Faces lit with pure joy that they are again blessed to be in her presents. The "Reeds" were blessed to have been a small part in the life she loved. RIP

I am in shock as I called the office today to purchase some medicine for my Sassy Sue and heard the recording. I didn't know Brenda very well but have been taking my cocker spaniel to her for many years. Brenda was always smiling and so caring. She would take time and talk to u and explain things. I would drive 50 mikes just to take my dog to her. Everyone there at her office was always so nice. She caught that my Sassy Sue had a disease early and probably saved her life. My heart goes out to her family and the staff. I know I will never find another veterinarian that will be so compassionate and friendly like Brenda. Rest In Peace.

Dr.Hollis has been my dogs vet for over 10years. She was always the kindest, caring, honest, lovable and reliable vet I have ever known. She and her staff are like family to me and Bella.
