Catherine Boyd Carroll Withers

WITHERS, CATHERINE BOYD CARROLL, 90, of Louisville, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on Tuesday, January 4, 2005, in Cincinnati, OH. A lifelong advocate of education, she graduated from St. Joseph Infirmary's School of Nursing in 1935 after attending the University of Kentucky. Having served at the old St. Joseph's Infirmary and Humana Audubon Hospital, she was a retired registered nurse, who devoted many years to the medical profession she so loved. She was the beloved wife of the late James H. Withers. She was also preceded in death by her father, Dr. C.C. Carroll, her mother, Elizabeth Boyd Carroll, and her sister, Mary Jane Carroll Morrison, all of White Mills, KY, her childhood home. She was the devoted mother of Ann Rae Withers of San Francisco, CA, and Betty Kay Edwards (Craig) and loving grandmother of Meredith Carroll, Eric Taylor and Farrah Anne Edwards, all of Cincinnati. She is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
