Charles Lichtefeld Obituary
Louisville - of Louisville, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018.
Charles was a self-employed contractor, a member of the former St. Pius Catholic Church (now St. John Paul II Goldsmith Lane Campus), and an Air National Guard veteran.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 59 years, Margaret J. "Peggy" Lichtefeld.
He is survived by his five children, Kay A. Bowling (Bob), Chuck Lichtefeld, Jr. (Beth), Brenda Lee O'Bryan, Karen Lynn Lichtefeld, and Kevin James Lichtefeld (Robin). He will live forever through his fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Marilyn Luckett and brother, John Lichtefeld.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Monday, April 9, 2018 at St. John Paul II Goldsmith Lane Campus (formerly St. Pius), 3521 Goldsmith Lane, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 8 PM on Sunday, April 8 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Online condolences may be directed to www.ratterman.com.

My name is Brenda and I am the middle child of my parents 5 children. Not always an easy place but a special place.
I want to take this time and share with u as I thank my parents for all they gave me and my girls. My mom shared her love of reading, teaching and education to us. My dad shared his love and also accepted the teachings from my daughters that girls can do just about anything guys can do. My dad shared his stubbornness with me and I will use it proudly as he did. Through good times and bad our love never wavered. I will always treasure our special times that we had in the last week.
Love u dad. Glad u are with mom, and family and friends.
