Charles Thomas Obituary
83, of Louisville, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Baptist Health.
He was born in Louisville on June 13, 1934, to the late William Clell and Mary Henrietta Bimmerle Thomas. He is also preceded in death by his siblings: Louis A. Thomas, Marguerite Reinert, Rebecca Stopher, Dorothy Eckert, and Henrietta Thomas.
He graduated from St. Xavier High School prior to obtaining master's degrees in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, and business from the University of Louisville. He worked at Tube Turns and American Air Filter prior to his retirement from Naval Ordnance. He was an Eagle Scout and member of St. Louis Bertrand Church.
Charlie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Mary Becker "Becky" Thomas, and his children David A. Thomas, M.D. (Becky), Steven E. Thomas, M.D. (Robbi), and Julianne M. Thomas. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Brandi, Rachel, Brooke, Claire, and Adam.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 South Sixth Street, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 - 8 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.
Donations may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice in his memory. Online condolences may be directed to www.ratterman.com.

So sorry that we just found out about this. Charlie and Becky too, were such good friends to us during our year in the US (1965). My dad, Trevor, still speaks so fondly of Charlie and we still have paintings of his and others he framed for us hanging on our walls. Condolences from the Hodgson family.
