David C. Beard

David C. Beard, 69, of Louisville, died Thursday at Hospice & Palliative Care of Louisville's inpatient unit at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was a native of Larue County, KY, where he was a member of Wesley Methodist Church. He was the cofounder and owner/operator of the Cow Palace Restaurant on Dixie Hwy. for 20 years. After his retirement from there he operated the Beard General Hauling Co. He was an Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Mary Helen Stewart; sons, Dennis, Dale and Danny; sisters, Ola Charlene Beard and Ruby Brown; and grandchildren, Eric, Jason, Dustin, Adam, Roxanne, Alexis and Isaac. Mr. Beard is resting at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-West. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Saturday and 12-8 p.m. Sunday.
