De La Vergne Coorssen Obituary

De La Vergne L. Coorssen, 91, of Louisville, died Thursday, May 6, 2004, at Twinbrook Nursing Home. She was born in Kansas City, MO. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Big Spring Country Club, Queen's Daughters and a Charter member of the Carmel Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin F. Coorssen; and three sisters, Lelia Mary Lester, Patricia L. Cox and Joanne L. Ottley. She is survived by her son, James L. (Mary) Coorssen, three grandchildren, James L. (Anne) Coorssen, Jr., David M. (Missy) Coorssen, Mary Randolph (Matthew) Elder and six great-grandchildren, Campbell Coorssen , Claire Elder, Sophie Coorssen, Grant Coorssen, Gracie Elder and Caroline Coorssen. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Twinbrook Nursing Home for their kindness and loving care that made the last few days so comforting. The funeral services will be private. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Boys Haven or Mass of the Air.
