Dennis Shields Obituary
Mr. Dennis "Skeeter" Shields, age 53, of Fairdale returned to his Heavenly Father on January 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Shields was an employee of General Electric. He was a mastermind in restorations and metal stamping. He had worked at Precision Tool & Die and Stauble Machine & Tool. Mr. Shields was a 1982 graduate of Fairdale High School and an avid UK fan. Among those that preceded him in death include his parents, Rubel Shields and Carol Rosser Shields Reeves. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 5 years, Trina Tarrance Shields; very beloved daughter, Valerie Bartley (Larry); stepchildren, Jenny Back (Brad) and Kevin LeGawiec (Bobbi); grandchildren, Nadia, Brandon, Kacie, Maddie, Loni Sue, Alana, Brooke, Emma and Jaxon; brother, Mark Shields (Cheryl); nephews, Jeremy and Wesley; nieces, Holly and Stephanie; and a host of family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to the CCU at Jewish Hospital Downtown for their care and compassion.
Funeral service will be conducted at noon on Friday, January 26, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 12-8 pm and Friday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Women's and Children's Center. I am so sorry to hear the news about Skeeter. He was a very valued and key employee for our company, Precision Tool & Die, over the years and was instrumental in our growth and success. More than that though, he was a better person and friend. Rest in peace Skeet.
