Eddie Parson Obituary

PARSONS, EDDIE, 64, of Lexington, KY, died Sunday, December 12, 2004, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Ennis, KY, he was a son to Carlysle Parsons and the late Matty Lee Parsons, a beloved husband of Janice McQuillen Parsons, a graduate of Eastern High School in Louisville, attended Georgetown (KY) College, and was a member of the Army Reserves. He served as a deacon at Jeffersontown Baptist Church in Louisville, and was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington where he served the church in many roles, including directorship of the Adult II Department and as chairman on the transportation committee. He had a long career in the automotive business and was a much-loved member of his church and community. Survivors include his wife, Janice; his father, Carlysle; his daughter, Tina Parsons Waksman and her husband, David Waksman, of New York, NY; his two grandchildren, Evan and Hannah to which he was the beloved "Poppy"; brother, Michael Sumner Parsons; sister-in-law, Sharon Parsons; stepmother, Eva Mae Parsons; two step-sisters, Priscilla Hartung and Willa Johnson; niece, Dr. Pamela Hill; and nephews, Dr. Michael McQuillen, Michael Parsons Jr. and Wesley Parsons. His funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane, with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Mt. Washington, KY. Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Transportation Committee at Calvary Baptist Church, 150 East High Street, Lexington, KY 40507.

So sorry to hear that Eddie has passed. It has been a long time since I last saw him and the family but there are many good times to look back on and those are the ones that I will remember not the sad ones from the last few weeks. You and yours will be in our thoughts and God bless to all in this time of your loss.
