Edith Baumgardner Obituary

BAUMGARDNER, EDITH PAYNE, 89, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville. Her loving daughters were with her. Born in Owensboro, KY on August 15, 1917 to Esker and Pinkie E. Payne, she was a graduate of Louisville Girls High School. She was the Executive Secretary to Dan Ewing at Alemite Company and assisted him in his directorship of the Brown Foundation. She retired in 1981. She was a lifetime member of Atwood Wesleyan Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Louis Edward Baumgardner. Survivors include her loving daughters; Charlotte Baumgardner who was her companion, caregiver and best friend since the passing of her husband in 1982 and Lois Lower and her husband, Timothy; her grandchildren, Kimberly Davis and her husband, Lester of Lexington, Christopher Louis Lower and his wife, Tina; great- granddaughter, Jennifer Davis; sister, Mary Leonard and her husband, Ray of Port Orange, FL.. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive visitors from 1 - 2 p.m. in the chapel preceding the service on Friday. The family requests that memorial gifts take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative care of Louisville at 1025 New Moody Lane LaGrange, KY 40031
