Rosalie Rosenblum Obituary

ROSENBLUM Rosalie (Roth), Hillsdale, New Jersey resident with her husband Mel for over 50 years, died on June 5, 2011 in Burlington, Massachusetts. She was 91. Born in New York City to Samuel and Sadie Roth, Rosalie was a proud graduate of George Washington High School and Hunter College. Married for 67 years to her soulmate, Mel, at the time of his death in 2005, Rosalie had a talent for friendship: she kept childhood friends for life and, with Mel, made lifelong friends in Hillsdale. Rosalie was the proud mother of Larry Michael Rosenblum, retired social worker and former Peace Corps Volunteer, and Karen Rosenblum Lawrence, President of Sarah Lawrence College. She is survived by her son and daughter, daughter-in-law Eloise Watkins Rosenblum and son-in-law Peter Lawrence, four adored grandchildren who fondly remember "Mimi,"-Peter Rosenblum, Elena Rosenblum Martynick, Andrew Lawrence and Jeffrey Lawrence, and she lived to become the great-grandmother of Olivia Katherine Rosenblum, born, May 12, 2011. Rosalie will be buried next to Mel, in Newport Beach, California. In honor of Rosalie's memory, contributions may be sent to the Fund for Sarah Lawrence, Sarah Lawrence College, One Mead Way, Bronxville, NY 10708, or at the following online site: http://www.slc.edu/giving/fund/index.html
