Everett L. "Sonny" Sprigler

New Albany - Everett L. "Sonny" Sprigler, 78 years of age passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at his home in New Albany, IN surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 10, 1942 in Starlight, IN to the late Louis "Tip" Sprigler and the late Genevieve "Jenny" Sprigler.

Following in his Father's footsteps, Sonny loved the art of building and developing. Many neighborhoods across Southern Indiana were proudly built and developed by The Sprigler Company, along with several apartment communities. You could almost always find Sonny on his properties, getting his hands dirty.

He loved to travel and create memories with his family and friends, who hold these once in a lifetime experiences near and dear to their hearts. He made friends all over the world, who surely still tell tales of the man they met from Indiana with a stutter.

Sonny was an avid hunter who enjoyed the social aspect of hunting trips more than the hunt itself. His love of golf was apparent. Although his talent, let's just say, wasn't quite up to par. He did however manage to become the 2008 Wolf Challenge Champion and wouldn't let anyone forget it. Sonny would tell you that he was also a semi-professional card player. "Do you know who I am?!"

It's rare to find someone who doesn't have a "Sonny Story", as he never met a stranger. He was a kind, hilarious, generous man who touched the lives of so many. He will forever and wholeheartedly be loved by his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Mary Evelyn Gettlefinger Sprigler, sons Brent Sprigler (Carol Wilkerson), Brad Sprigler, and Chad Sprigler (Morgan), grandchildren, Brandon, Cody, Genevieve and Evelyn Sprigler. Sister, Jeanette Bedan (the late Carroll), brothers, Thomas "TJ" Sprigler (Janice) and Paul Sprigler (Shauna).

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm Thursday, May 6, 2021 and after 9:00 am Friday, May 7, 2021 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring St, New Albany, IN. Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery.
