I just found out that Harry passed away. I'm so sad. In addition to his great playing and scholarship, he was such a sweet guy. I have more than once described him as angelic.
Let me know if there's anything I can do.

I am so sorry for the Lewman family's loss. May you find comfort knowing Harry was such a wonderful man.
As a friend Harry was great and it was such a pleasure to be in his company.
Tonight I am going to listen to some Leadbelly recordings and shed a tear for a friend I've lost. In the morning I am going to look up in the blue sky for a puffy, soft as cotton white cloud. And I'll smile knowing Harry's taken his 12 string guitar to those cotton fields back home where Leadbelly has surely been waiting for him.
Thanks for the friendship, Harry.

Harry, you stayed with me out in San Fran back in the early 70s while you were on a bike ride down the coast. I'll never forget that.

This has caught me as a total shock. I am very sorry for your loss. The Lewmans are like family to the Smiths. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

We are sorry that we could not make it to Louisville to be with the family. We will forever remember Harry's wonderful music that he always performed at the family gatherings and at our wedding. We will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss. Harry's musical style was a joy to listen to and his wealth of knowlege, entertaining and educational. Though he will be missed, take solice in knowing that he'll live on through his music and bring smiles to faces when talked about. Rest easy Harry.

Harry had a true sense of adventure and lust for learning...as young guys Harry shared his knowledge of trees and foliage with me...not my cup of tea but how I wish we could visit the woods. Strength and peace to all the Lewmans.

Curtis, Margaret, Cash, Peter, Mrs. L, Virgie -- I'll never forget, and I know you all won't, that slightly crooked, kind of surprised, ironic smile of Harry's. We shared a lot of laughs, throw-down music and parties (the latter especially in the Lewman basement in Indian Hills) in our early years, but all still vivid for me. His passion for life and positive outlook was and is an inspiration for me and I'm sure for you as well. I miss him but will keep in my heart that smile and all that was good about him.

I am honored to have met Curtis' father last summer and to have seen him perform this past spring at The Hideaway. His spirit will live on through his son, who like his father, is a talented musician.

I wouldn't have had it any other way than to know Harry Lewman in my lifetime. I wish that I could have known him longer.
One of my favorite songs written by Harry Lewman is "Any Other Way". We sang it together with Cynthia Changaris on The HomeFront radio program and at Late Seating Actor's Theatre. Harry had a great zest for life and contemplation. What fun it was to sing with Harry.

We had dinner with Harry June 28th. What a shock. I've known him since Miss Sawyer's nursery school. I took some great pictures of him.

My husband Bob and I met Harry on the 28th of June at a KHS reunion dinner. Some very good pictures were taken of Harry with his high school friends. We would be happy to share these with you. We're so so very sorry for your loss.
