Irvin Foley Obituary
76, died on January 19, 2016.
Irv was a graduate of the University of Louisville, receiving a B.S. in Chemistry in 1962 and a JD from the law school in 1965. As a member of the diving team at University of Louisville, he won Outstanding Athlete of the Year for minor sports in 1961. Upon graduation from law school, he served as a Special Agent for the FBI. He was a practicing attorney in Louisville for 47 years. He was a long-serving board member of the Public Defender Corp.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Charlotte Foley, and two brothers, Larry and Daniel Foley.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Brooks Foley; his children, Michael P. Foley (Amy) of Cincinnati, OH, Katherine Foley Bedoian (Martin) of San Francisco, CA, and James D. Foley (Jamie) of Huntersville, NC; and five grandchildren, Sophie and Henry Foley, Roan Bedoian, and Aaron and Anderson Foley. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Foley Brown (Barry) of Carolina Beach, NC.
A funeral Mass will be held 11 AM, Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 511 E. Liberty St. with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM, Friday at Pearson Funeral Home, 149 Breckenridge Lane.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nativity Academy at St. Boniface, Trinity High School, Louisville, KY, Louisville-Jefferson County Public Defender's Office, or the charity of the donor's choice.

Just hearing of the news. Irv was a great client. He supported me and my company and was an advocate. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Has been years since we've spoken, but always enjoyed his company. Godspeed to his family.

Saddened to hear of Irv's passing. We have been contemporaries in the practice of law and Irv's career has been the hallmark of integrity. I'll miss seeing him.
