Oh Jackie , I just found out today (July 15) that you are gone. I will miss out texts about politics, books, Masterpiece, movies and so much more. I will always cherish your friendship and our time together swimming at the Y and our meeting up for coffee and lunches. I missed you so much after I moved to Atlanta. I will never forget you. Donna

I was saddened to learn of the passing of my dear childhood friend, Jackie. So many wonderful fond memories of growing up in our small town. Sock hops, poodle skirts, slumber parties, and the first generation for girls to wear blue jeans to school! She told me that she had written her remembrances of her youth and life in Tell City in the 1940´s and 50´s, so that she could share them with her family and friends. It truly was a unique, peaceful time in which to grow up. I am hoping that these memoirs will be shared with friends. I would love to read them, too. When I read her letters that she wrote to me in that lovely handwriting of hers (that never changed from when we first learned to write in cursive !), I could almost hear her voice.
My sincere sympathy to Doug and all of her lovely family.

I first met Jackie 25 years ago at a Women’s Week retreat at Waycross Episcopal Camp and Conference Center. She was lovely—friendly, enthusiastic, bright and
a wonderful companion. Even though we only saw each other once each year for
four days I consider her a dear friend who will be greatly missed.

I first met Jackie a few years ago in the Wathen Heights neighborhood. She was pretty with a head full of white hair and a light blue walking outfit.
When I was invited to join the Jeffersonville Study Club, Jackie was one who really made me feel welcome.
She had an avid interest in learning and a fun way of presenting information to our group. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
You, her beloved family, are in my prayers as I seek comfort and peace for you.
