James Haney Obituary

James E. Haney

UNION, SC-- Mr. James Earl Haney, age 85, husband of Polly Austin Dobbs Haney of 211 Linersville Rd., Buffalo, SC passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Haney was born in Chester, SC April 21, 1929, a son of the late Eules and Mary Vinson Haney. Mr. Haney was first married to the late, Dorothy Russell Haney. He was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church and a veteran of the US Army having serviced in General McArthur's Headquarters Company following WWII. Mr. Haney formerly worked with United Merchants Buffalo Plant and retired from Torrington Company-Tyger River Plant.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother, Harold Eugene 'Dink' Haney and wife Pat of Buffalo; two nieces, Susan Mullinnix and husband John and Patty Keasler all of Buffalo; a great-nephew, Phillip Mullinnix of Charleston; a step granddaughter, Marian Dobbs of Greenville. Mr. Haney was predeceased by an infant son, Patrick Haney, a step-son Larry Dobbs, two sisters, Mildred McSwain and Eloise Sumner.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Robert Branch. The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Tanglewood Baptist Church, 200 Velda Drive, Union, SC. 29379.
