Even after a year, our entire family misses Dr Mefferet so much. He was the best dentist we ever had; a such a great, caring, man. We are sure he is in heaven. I knew him most of my life, he was like family. Prayers to the family.

Another memory I have of Jimmy was from the top of a Ferris Wheel at the County fair in Louisville.
We were at the top and had suddenly stopped, to make me feel better Jim likened it to life. You rise to the top and then during the ride you are stopped by many things and hope you have what it takes to help you go on until the next life encounter. They come fast and hit hard. A boy with the vision of a man. He calmly went through his life with his helpfulness, gentle demeanor and meeting life's challenges until his time to move off of that Wheel. He left us with a part of heaven, Undulata. Love to his family. Claudia Guy Shook, Albany, New York

Jimmy and I were members of the same church. I knew him as a boy, a gentle, always kind, sweet human being.
When we were back in Lville, in Presbyterian Seminary, he invited our daughters to go to Undulata and that little piece of heaven they created. Fantastic. The world has lost one of the most Christ like human beings I've ever known. We are all richer for having known him. My heart goes out to his family. Thank you for sharing him. Claudia

Ms. Meffert, Jimmy, and Jill - I am so very sorry for your loss. I of course will remember Dr. Meffert as my dentist - humming the same melody at each and every appointment but I am also grateful for the time I spent at Undulata Farm with all of you. I still remember my camp songs (Undulata Choo Choo) and the wonderful time spent with the Meffert family in the barn and in the kitchen. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry so for your loss Bobbie, Jim and Jill. Some of my best memories are with you all on the farm. Dr. Meffert was a joy to be around. He was a kind and gentle man when many times he shouldn't have been. (Jim and Jill you know what I am talking about). I am sure he will be greatly missed but I for one will always remember him fondly. I hope you all find peace in his memory.

What a sad loss for us. The earth has lost a great personality with the warmest of hearts. I even came back for his dental services when I lived in California for 14 years. James was more than a wonderful dentist, though, He was a great friend and listener. He was always encouraging and humming a happy tune while he worked. He even steered me to work at one of my first art teaching jobs at the farm Undulata in Shelbyville, KY. What a great Camp, his wife, Bobby had created and headed with horseback riding and much more. That summer I got to live with and learn so much about life and love and the generous mature of this family. Great fun and positive memories which influenced my life greatly. My heart goes out to the family at this time. He will be sorely missed by many.
