We will always remember Clay as a kind and loving person. When he came to Minnesota to be in Tom and Jen's wedding and again to be Parker's Godfather at the babtism. He left a great impression on us all that we will never forget. His phone calls to Tom and Jen just to say "Hi" and his talks with Parker and Ethan were so precious to us all. Clay was such a friendly and kind person and he will be remembered and missed dearly.God Bless the family.

Sally, Martha, Kristy, Tom and everyone: I couldn't believe the sad news when my parents/Kelly called to tell me. Over the years I have thought of Clay (and of you) often, and you have to know that my life was altered positively tohrough knowing him and knowing you....Mostly I'm sad because the knowledge of what Kelly USED to be like back you know when will now be lost almost altogether without him around...My best memories of growing up with my sister ALWAYS have parts of Clay woven in. His was a life to inspire and to cherish. May your hearts be made light with thoughts of his spirit living on forever...

My heart goes out to your family. You are in my prayers. I have so many wonderful memories of times I spent with Clay that go back to childhood. I can still hear his laugh in my mind and see his eyes sparkle when I think of him. My daughters are also very fond of Clay or "putty" which was a nickname they came up with when they were very young. My entire family loved Clay as did most people who knew him. I've heard it said that "the candle that burns the brightest, goes out the quickest". Clay was one who really lived his life and I will miss him for the rest of mine.

Clay marched to the beat of his own drum. He once told me to "Hang Tuff", I can hear him saying it to his family and friends now. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Know that when you look back on this time, you'll only see one set of footprints in the sand.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family in your loss of Clay. Clay and I went to high school together and I haven't seen him in a long time. However, the last time that I saw him in St. Matthews, he did a wonderful thing that I will never forget.

I am so sorry for your loss, you all are in my prayers. I have many, wonderful childhood memories of running around the house in Countryside with Clay, he was always so sweet to me! We would always run into each other through the years, Clay always giving me a big hug, very happy to see me, always asking about my family and especially my brother Eric. We would exchange numbers, but not stay in touch. He was a wonderful guy!! I'll never forget those times, being young, running around River Bluff farms and Countryside with him and the Gooding's that lived across the street long ago and when I would get picked on by the boys, I was 4 yrs younger he always stuck up for me like a big brother!! Take Care-- Erin Tripton

Clay never really did anything half-way. He loved with his whole heart and his whole being. He was amazing in that way and he will be deeply missed. Sally, Tom, Tom Jr., Martha, Kristi, Theresa, and all of the family members; I pray that God will comfort you and give you peace. Clay loved the "Footprints" poem when we were kids and I pray that God will carry you in his loving arms through this very difficult time. I love you all and thank you for nurturing a heart such as Clay's.

The last time i was with Clay, a few years ago, he was enthusiastic
& animated about his life, as usual.
Probably because of his love of life, and going his own way...his
absence will be felt all the more by the many whose lives he has touched.
We are all saddened and
wish the family well during this most difficult of times.

Tom and Doreen,
My heart goes out to you and your families at this very sad time. I liked Clay very much. He was always very nice to me when I would come into your store. I always thought of him as a good kid. He used to tease me about coming into the store in my horseback riding clothes, but in a sweet way. I ran into him years later through a mutual friend. I thought then too that he was a good hearted young man. I am so sad to learn that he was suffering in any way. May God take him into his arms.
