My absolute favorite science teacher!! Loved our fun times and his smile, our late night cookies and milk when he couldn't sleep, our discussions about using the paddle and our "eyes on each other" jestures. Fortunate to have had time caring for him, a truly special family I will always remember. My thoughts and prayers are now with his wife and family.

I have known John from childhood. We both were members of Lynnhurst UCC and sang in children's choir together. I remember John's beautiful big sisters and John's sunny a smile and brilliant blonde hair . Growing up, we both attended Manual and later taught at Western High School together for many years. Our children grew up together. John taught right across the hall from me and I made coffee for him and our colleague Denny Smith every morning in the storage room of my classroom. They brought the donuts!!! Our families Cooked together in our Gourmet group, laughed together and shared life together. Joe and I will miss our good friend. His smile forever in our hearts. Condolescences to the John Poore family. John was my supervisor for 28 years as I led a crew painting the Gym floors for JCPS. John was a great person to work for and personally I send regards to the family.

It was a pleasure caring for Mr. Poore over the past few years at the Forum at Brookside. I will always remember his humor, his stories, his smile, his love of sports and especially, the love of his wife. He was our gentle giant. He will be missed daily but I will always remember the many funny days we shared. Thanks for choosing us to care for him. We are blessed to be a part of his life and him to be a part of ours.

Uncle John had a great sense of humor. I remember some of his impersonations... John Wayne and Bela Lugosi were my favorites.Memory Eternal <

To the Poore family,
He will always be a member of the POETS, need that rake, and not only like bourbon but those strong Yellow Birds in Key West. We so enjoyed his company. He paid his dues in Vietnam and with his battle with Parkinson's Disease and is now enjoying the company of his family and friends in a better place. He will share POET stories with Veronica.
Love your family and loved John. That love was cherished and will continue.
